Since 1982, Metro Xpress has been more than just a freight carrier; we’re a family legacy built on trust, dedication, and unwavering commitment to our customers.

ROLLING THROUGH
THE YEARS

Founded by a husband-and-wife team and joined by their son in 1993, our company has grown steadily and deliberately, fueled by a passion for excellence and a relentless pursuit of customer satisfaction.

1982

Kerry and Diane Sell start Metro Xpress as a local cartage company. Kerry drives a 14-foot straight truck while Diane manages the office out of their home.

1986

The Sells open their first “official” Metro Xpress office, inside Wichita’s United Warehouse.

1991

Metro Xpress expands the business outside of Kansas, into Oklahoma City and Dallas.

1993

Metro Xpress brings truck maintenance in-house.

1993

Cory Sell joins the family business.

1996

Metro Xpress relocates to its current location in north Wichita.

2008–2010

Times are hard for the shipping business. Yet Metro Xpress keeps everyone on staff.

2020–2022

The COVID-19 pandemic takes a toll on business. Again, Metro Xpress retains all team members.

2023

With the resurgence of the economy, Metro Xpress expands its fleet to 100 trucks and 250+ trailers.
